A three-day trip to London ended in a romantic surprise for Formby optical assistant Laura Wilcox. Laura won the experience in a competition for Specsavers staff in which entrants nominated the man in their life. The prize was a Jeff Banks bespoke suit and makeover including a two-night stay in London for the winner and the nominee. The prize also included lunch with Jeff Banks himself at Cecconis in London's Mayfair plus £200 worth of Debenhams shopping vouchers.
Laura nominated her boyfriend David Wright who is now in remission following a long battle with cancer. In her entry she wrote: ‘He was diagnosed the day he graduated university. David is hoping to start looking for a graduate job soon and I feel a makeover and a smart new suit would give him the confidence boost he needs.’
Laura said: ‘We had such an amazing time. The suit fitting was fantastic. David felt so at ease and we both can’t wait to see the suit when it’s finished. Jeff and Alan Weeden, (who works for Jeff Banks) made us both so welcome. We have truly been spoiled rotten!
