On a blustery Saturday in southern Holland, Jeff Banks took to the roads around Maastricht to ride the amateur version of the professional race that took place on the Sunday.

Over 12000 riders took part in what has become a classic European amateur event.

The morning started cold and muddy but warmed up towards the end of the ride.
