JEFF MEETS THE QUEEN

Tuesday May 15 found Jeff at The Glades Shopping Center Bromley with a host of Britain's top designers to be presented to Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh. This was part of Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee celebrations. The center was filled with thousands of schoolchildren and surprised shoppers all furiously waving Union Jack flags.

Each designer presented one piece of their work and chatted through the design with Her Majesty. Jeff chose to present a finely cut mohair Bespoke suit with a made to measure Egyptian Cotton Shirt. Jeff explained that he had selected something from his latest collection rather than something from his archive spanning five decades of design.

The Duke joked that Jeff's mannequin had no shoes and he must have spent all the money on the suit. After the Royal Party left Jeff spent time catching up with old design friends John Rocha and Pearce Fionda. Funny thing was on his way home via The Lower Richmond Road Jeff bumped into The Queen again who was on her way to Richmond Park to another event. Who gets to see The Queen twice in one day?
